Inspired by the award-winning documentary series “A Long-Cherished Dream”, this drama is based on the life of Zhang Lin, a female truck driver. The petite woman, only 1.5 metres tall, drives an 18-metre truck with ease and skill. But there is more to her story than her robust appearance suggests.
Her coming-of-age journey, characterized by family pain, a longing for love and the pursuit of freedom, reflects the evolving self-confidence and resilience of women against the backdrop of contemporary China.
