A Long-Cherished Dream

Kaiyong is a village secretary serving in the poverty-stricken mountainous region in southwest China. As the most grass-root cadre, he has to relay and execute policies passed down all the way from the top, and bear the brunt of the villagers’ complaints and conflicts. In this episode, Kaiyong has to persuade the Wang family who has lived in the deep mountains for generations, to join in the plan of relocating to the city’s free housing. But for the Wang family, leaving behind the only place they see as home is by no means an easy decision. Will Kaiyong succeed in his endeavor?
